Spring?

Although it is not very noticeable right now with clouds and rain, the Spring is definitely making its entry. Last week it was our turn at the U of O to have the (in)famous Spring break (time of Spring break various across the country). Rather than getting drunk in Cancun like in the movies, I went camping with the Outdoor Program. It was a long roadtrip leading to both a very hot Death Valley and a freezing (during the night) Grand Canyon. On the way, we also had short visits to Las Vegas, Hoover Dam and Route 66. Awesome!

Why, I ask myself afterwards, did I actually manage to live without amenities for over a week. Enjoying the luxuries of life (like 30 minute hot showers), camping is not really the topnotch way to go for me. But who cares when this is overshadowed by great experiences, cool people and natural wonders of the world? The trip also made me realize that I should probably try thinking a little more about my lifestyle. The final cost of the trip including everything was actually almost the same as a normal week of school for me which is quite absurd considering the vastness of adventures during the trip.

By the way, a Visa extension application is now on its way to the higher powers in San Francisco. I am crossing my fingers for another year in the US!
